AI Infra Financing Risk Map
Who is on the hook for the AI boom?
Everyone is racing to build data centers. Almost nobody asks who borrowed the money, and what the collateral is worth when the loan comes due. This map tracks the financing risk behind the AI infra boom: the debt structures, the vendor-financing loops, and the places where stress is already showing.

The map
The core mismatch: loans run 12–15 years, GPU collateral lasts 4–5. Deals get custom-built around that gap, with SPVs, locked-up cash and residual-value guarantees, and chip vendors increasingly lend to their own customers. The US problem is debt: expensive and fragile. China's problem is capacity: built fast, sitting idle.
